Board Bios

Dan Iacovella: Dan Iacovella is the co-founder of United with Kenya and has overseen activities in Chepsaita since 2005.  Dan serves as the organization’s President.

Dan has run his own consulting business for over 25 years, working on behalf of not-for-profit organizations to help plan and build over 6,100 units of affordable permanent housing for homeless and low-income individuals and families.

Joan W. Duncan:  Joan Duncan joined the Board of UwK in 2009. Joan received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Clark University and completed her post doctoral training in community/clinical psychology at Yale University. She is a tenured Professor of Psychology and past Associate Director of the Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, NY.  She currently serves as Coordinator of Youth activities. Joan has helped develop UwK’s Education Enrichment Program. Since 1990 she has been a consultant to international organizations (UNICEF, Save the Children, Care International, International Rescue Committee) implementing community-based psychosocial/educational programs for vulnerable children, families, and communities primarily in southern Africa (Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania). This work includes situation analysis, program development, training, and qualitative evaluation.

Sherry Jagerson: Sherry Jagerson joined the Board of UwK in 2009.   She has been a leader in non-profit work in CT for the past 15 years.  She co-founded WestBridge Coalition which helps qualified homeowners make their homes safer, warmer and more functional.  She led the committee to establish Sherwood Mill Pond Preserve and was a founding member of Green Village Initiative.

Kristen S. Leddy:  Kristen Leddy joined the Board of UwK in 2010.  She has a BA degree in Zoology and worked in the Animal Science field for many years.  Kristen works to enrich education by serving on the Board of ABC (A Better Chance) of Wilton CT, as the Girls Selection Chairperson. She also works as a Transitions Coach for the UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association), guiding congregations through their multiple year transition from one senior minister to the next.

Anne L. Khanna: Anne Khanna joined the Board of UwK in 2013. She currently serves as the Treasurer. Anne has a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Georgia and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of Business. Following a 12 year career at GE Capital, she has been active in numerous community organizations, including serving as a Director on the Board of the Wilton Soccer Association, as Assistant Treasurer for the Unitarian Church of Westport, and as volunteer in Stay at Home Wilton, TOPSoccer, and the Special Education Advisory Board.

Jerusha Vogel:  Jerusha Vogel joined the Board of UwK in 2021.  She has been a high school chemistry teacher since 1991 and is currently teaching at Greenwich High School in Greenwich, CT.   She has been active with volunteer work and education her whole life, including holding numerous committee and leadership positions at the Unitarian Church in Westport.   Jerusha and her family went to Kenya with UWK in 2018 where she worked with the local chemistry teacher in addition to helping with the library and water projects.

Anne Jones-Iacovella: Anne Jones-Iacovella was a co-founder of United with Kenya along with Dan Iacovella and served on its Board until 2018.
